‘Cheryl Facetimes Liam three times a day’
She’s at home with the baby and he’s partying in LA, but family life is still peachy
While Cheryl’s been keeping a low profile since the birth of their son, boyfriend Liam Payne jetted out to LA last week to focus on his debut solo album.
And it wasn’t all work and no play for the 23 year old, as he was pictured posing for photos with a number of fans and enjoying a night out at Hollywood club Beauty & Essex alongside Beyoncé and Jay Z.
But while some new mums may not love the idea of their baby’s dad partying thousands of miles away, insiders tell heat Cheryl is 100 per cent supportive.
“Cheryl knows Liam’s solo career means the world to him,” an insider says. “She’s in the industry, too, and understands that he has to go away and work. She thinks he’ll be so successful. She didn’t mind him going out to a club, either, as it was a night organised by Jay Z’s record label. She knows he needs to be seen with the right people and make the right connections. They Facetime a minimum of three times a day, they talk on the phone, Whatsapp or email all the time, and send each other a cute selfie before bed.”
To add to Liam’s pressure, two of his former One Direction bandmates have seen their solo efforts suffer disappointing sales. Zayn’s first single Pillowtalk reached No1, but his third single
Wrong only got to number 183 in the charts. Meanwhile, Harry Styles’ debut single Sign Of The
Times also reached number one but only sold 69,000 copies – half of what Zayn’s first single sold.
“Cheryl thinks Liam’s career is about to take off – of course they both hope he’ll be the most successful One Direction member, but it’s not about that – it’s about making music he loves,” says the insider.
But despite his career goals, insiders say Liam has promised Cheryl, 33, he is totally committed to their family life. Last week, he reportedly gushed to a fan about his baby son, saying, “He’s great, he’s good. I love him and miss him a lot.”
And it was also claimed he was renting out his £8million LA mansion to focus on life in the UK. Our source says, “Liam wants his career to be a success, but he knows his priorities, and has told Cheryl that she and their baby will always come first.”
