“My best holiday? A caravan in Wales!”
Best holiday memory?
When we were kids, we always stayed in a caravan in North Wales. I have special memories of sitting in the sun on the South Shore, covered in SPF2 and falling asleep on my mum.
Biggest holiday fail?
I went to Barcelona many years ago with a friend. We lost our wallets on the last day and only had about a tenner between us. The flight was late at night, so we starved and dehydrated all day.
Weirdest souvenir you’ve brought back with you?
The skeleton of a rat from the desert in Morocco. I loved it at the time, but as soon as I got home, it went straight in the bin.
Coolest hotel?
The Legian hotel in Bali. It’s so tranquil, sitting under the palm trees looking out to the ocean. I was in the penthouse and my suite was enormous. It’s so well laid out and the decoration is exquisite.
Best thing you’ve put in your mouth on hols?
Calamari from a tiny restaurant in Ireland, a place called Connemara on the western coast. I have never tasted anything so fresh and beautiful in my life.
Most embarrassing holiday experience?
Egypt, on the day I went home. My stomach wasn’t feeling great, the plane got delayed, I’m dressed head-to-toe in white linen. As I got closer to home, I desperately needed the loo and as soon as I put the key in the door, hell was unleashed in my hallway – my white linen trousers went brown!
Trip that changed your life?
Camping with my boyfriend when I was 18, in the forest in North Wales. We would wake up listening to the mountain stream, with nobody else around.
Which holiday has been Instagram goals?
New York. Everywhere you look there’s a brilliant photo opp. The traffic lights, taxis, rooftops, people walking along in silhouette. The Flatiron is amazing and also looking down on the Empire State Building.
