e returned home last week after ten weeks of rehab in Thailand, sporting a healthy, sunkissed glow to put his perma-tanned castmates to shame. But those of us after a better look at James “Arg” Argent’s newly-slim physique had our hopes dashed, as ITVBE revealed that the star would not be returning to TOWIE anytime soon.
According to insiders, TV bosses wanted to be 100 per cent sure that the star had finally beaten his demons – which reportedly include a long history of drink and drug binges – before resuming filming.
We at heat are launching a campaign to bring back Arg. And while the star tweeted, “I definitely haven’t been axed,” and that he would “#Bebacksoon”, we’re demanding his immediate return. And we’re not the only ones.
heat’s campaign is backed by numerous TOWIE stars, who miss Arg just as much as we do and aren’t afraid to speak out about it. Here’s hoping that, united, we can overturn this terrible injustice.
We normally judge a good friend by how willing they are to share their food or new shoes with us. But offering up an ex? That’s taking friendship to a whole new level.
So, fair play to Reese Witherspoon, who’s taken close friend Jennifer Garner’s newfound singledom into her own hands and set her up with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, father of her two eldest children, Ava, 17, and Deacon, 13. “Reese told Jen that actually Ryan liked her a lot, and he was always asking about her,” says an insider close to Jen, who finally filed for divorce from Ben Affleck earlier this month after two years of separation. “Jen was stunned, because she had never thought of him as more than a friend. But she has to admit that she does think he’s very handsome, and so talented and kind.”
We’re told Ryan is very into Jen, and has been for a while – a fact that didn’t go unnoticed by Ben. “Ryan’s always been flirty with Jen when they bumped into each other at parties,” says our insider. “It used to drive Ben nuts how Ryan would be chatting away with his arm around Jen.”
But, apparently, it took a talk with Reese for Jen to see Ryan’s advances as anything more than friendly banter. Reese – who was married to Ryan for seven years before divorcing in 2007 and who is now married to agent Jim Toth – is said to have pushed her friend to meet Ryan, 42.
The two actresses have been close for a long time. Reese, 41, was recently spotted at Jen’s 45th birthday shortly after posting a gushing tribute on Instagram, writing, “Here’s lookin’ at you, Jen! Happy Birthday to my gorgeous friend who always laughs at my jokes and my bad dance moves!”
So far Jen and Ryan have kept it low-key with a few casual lunch dates, and our insider tells us the actress is wary about starting anything serious so soon after filing for divorce. But if Ryan’s angry response to rumours he was dating Katy Perry two weeks ago – he furiously denied it on Twitter – is anything to go by, it looks like he could already be smitten, and Reese is singing his praises.
Our source tells us, “Reese says that Ryan is a great dad, which is important to Jen, who worries about bringing any new man into her own kid’s lives. Her only worry is whether she’s ready for another relationship just yet. But she is enjoying spending time with Ryan, and just wants to take things very slowly and see how it all works out.”
Meanwhile, while they take it slow, we’re off to make Reese our new best friend – with all the perks attached. Didn’t she once date Jake Gyllenhaal?
