They were all smiles at last week’s baby shower. But with the pitter-patter of tiny feet fast approaching, are Binky and JP about to hit the rocks?
It’s not all sunshine and cakes behind the scenes for the Made In Chelsea couple
Dressed in a flowing white dress and surrounded by loved ones laden with gifts, Binky Felstead looked a vision as the perfect, glowing-withhappiness pregnant lady. But behind the scenes of last week’s baby shower, things were far from rosy between Binky and her baby daddy Josh “JP” Patterson – and now friends tell heat they’re worried ’s that the couple’s relationship could be on the rocks after recent arguments.
“They’re rowing a lot right now,” says heat’s source close to the reality stars, who have dated on and off since meeting on Made In Chelsea in 2015. “JP sees Binky as a bit of a wild child, but when she got pregnant, they thought they could make it work. Binky’s grown up a lot, but she’s still only 26 and wants to have fun. And while they’re still confident they’ll work through it, that’s the root of their fights. It can be volatile.”
Binky – who’s due in June – held a second baby shower that very same weekend, this time at celeb club Bunga Bunga in Covent Garden – proving that pregnancy hasn’t slowed down the former party girl. Our spy tells us, “Even though Binky wasn’t drinking, she ordered four large Statue of David drinking vessels for her friends, which dispense Belvedere vodka from a tap placed in an amusing area of the statue. Then she got up and sang karaoke with the house band and her co-star, Jamie Laing. They were singing Rat Packthemed songs, like That’s Amore, and having a great time.” And if you’re wondering – yes, JP was there, too, but our onlooker can’t remember seeing him join in with any of the fun… Binky told heat last week that things were great with 27-year-old JP, adding
that, “The babymoon was an amazing time for us.” But insiders are concerned at how long these calm waters will continue. “JP’S moved her into his
place, but it’s sometimes difficult for them to spend quality time together,” says the source. “As well as work, Binky has been going to see her mum a lot, or staying with friends so she can share the experience of being pregnant with those close to her. Sometimes the only quality time they seem to get is when they have work commitments together. Of course they love each other, and Binky’s trying not to stress about the future, but her friends are all wondering what’s going to happen when the baby arrives. They’re worried about Binky becoming some sort of housewife, but that’s not who she is. She’s already said she’ll want to get her figure back and throw herself into work. She’s proud of her career and doesn’t want to give it up.
“This is a tough time for them, and it’s only going to get tougher when their daughter arrives. They’ve reassured everyone they’ll make it work, but they’re a fiery couple at the best of times. A lot of friends are walking on eggshells around them at the moment.”
