Refresh your face with these celeb inspired looks…
THE TROPICAL CAT EYE
“A coloured winged liner will gives a fresh feel to a simple cat eye. Go for shades of blue or green for a tropical vibe,” says Urban Decay make-up artist Kirsty Djajasaputra. “To create the best wing for your eye shape, look directly into a mirror and draw your flicks, following your lower lash line up towards the tip of your brow.”
“Once you’ve lined your upper lid, line your lower lash with a bronze pencil.”
“Finish by brushing through your brows with a brow tamer
frame your eyes and give a smooth, polished look.”
THE NEW SMOKEY LOOK
“Spring calls for playful colours, so amp up your smoky eye by applying hues of rose and red,” recommends Kirsty. “Start by applying an eyeshadow primer in a neutral shade.”
“Next, apply a rose-toned liner from the outer edge to the inner corner of your eye. Soften with a smudger brush then, using a blending brush, apply a red eyeshadow and blend out.”
“Finish with a light foundation and a hint of highlighter on top of the cheekbones for a soft glow.”
THE SPRING RED LIP
“A red lip goes perfectly with a fresh tan,” says Kirsty. “As the weather gets warmer, I like to use a more orange-based shade, as it really lifts the complexion.”
“Keep the rest of your look simple. Prep with a fix spray to keep skin hydrated, before applying a BB cream for a fresh, dewy finish. Top with a bronzer for a sun-kissed, straight-off-the-beach look.”
“For perfect lipstick application, first use a liner around the lip line and all over as a base shade. This will ensure your colour stays put. Then, apply your lipstick on top.”
THE PEACHY NUDE GLOW
“Give your nudes a fresh, feminine feel by opting for shades with pink and peach undertones,” says Kirsty.
“Apply your contour shade. Top tip: sweep it onto the face from the brow bone to avoid getting product in the hair line. Next, apply a peach-tone blusher to the apples of the cheek, extending upwards. Finish with a sweep of highlighter on the cheekbones.”
“For eyes, go for shades that are inspired by summer sunsets. Build product lightly and blend the edges for the perfect ombre.”
