No, this isn’t a risqué take on Jane Austen, unearthing the scandalous secrets of her private life (although we would tune in for that), rather an interesting look at the houses that shaped JA’S life. Historian Lucy Worsley embarks on a road trip across England, recreating journeys the Austens took and visiting Jane’s birthplace in Steventon, Hampshire, and her brother’s property, Godmersham Park – which was a potential inspiration for Mr Darcy’s Pemberley in Pride and Prejudice.
