LOVE ISLAND BABY

Love Island ’s Scott talks us through his friends’ shock pregnancy

-

Cara de la Hoyde and Nathan Massey upset fans in early April by announcing that, almost a year after winning Love Island – and giving us serious #couplegoals during the show –they had broken up. But the pair kept the shocks coming last week, when Cara revealed she was three months pregnant with Nathan’s baby. The 26 year old said in an interview that they had split two weeks after learning she was expecting, calling the timing “a shame and a sad situation”.

One person shocked by the baby news was Scott Thomas, the pair’s former Love Island castmate and close friend of 24-year-old Nathan, who is still seeing Kady Mcdermott from the show. In an exclusive chat with

heat, Scott, 28, whose twin brother is I’m A Celeb star, Adam, tells us how Nathan reacted to the news, how he’s lending his support, and why he and Kady won’t be following suit any time soon…

You and Kady are one of the few couples from

Love Island still standing. Were you surprised when Nathan and Cara split up?

I wasn’t really that surprised. I speak to Nathan a lot, so I knew they were having problems. But I was surprised about the pregnancy – that came totally out of nowhere.

Was Nathan surprised?

I think he was a bit, but they’ve just got to deal with it now and do what’s best for the kid.

Do you think Cara wanted to be a mum?

I don’t know, but I know that Cara’s always been very broody and always wanted a kid – she said it openly. I don’t know about Nathan – it’s their business. But I’m sure whatever happens, they’ll be great parents.

How is he handling the news?

He needs his friends right now, as he’s obviously going through a lot. He’s still the happy chappie that I met, but he’s obviously got a lot to deal with. He’ll get through it, like the man he is.

Cara has said that Olivia [Buckland] will be godmother – could you be godfather?

I don’t know, but Cara did mention me as Uncle Scotty… I love Nathan and Cara, so I just want to be there for them.

You seem pretty busy yourself these days…

Yeah, since the show, my business, The Social PR, has really taken off. I look after a lot of restaurants and bars in Manchester, and celebrities who come into the city. But I’m also getting into modelling and putting myself out there as a social influencer.

What about your relationship? Olivia and Alex [Bowen] are set to get hitched. Could you and Kady be next?

No, definitely not yet. We’ve only been together for a year. It’s their business and congratulations to them, but I have to be realistic. We’re living together, but it’s one step at a time!
