Ferne Mccann’s been having a tough time recently, now her BFF Sam Faiers has left her in the lurch
Billie Faiers has been showing her support for pregnant Ferne Mccann, but her sister has been strangely quiet
Ferne Mccann has been best mates with Sam and Billie Faiers for way longer than they’ve been famous – they met at school before appearing on TOWIE and Sam’s TV show The Mummy Diaries together. So, you’d expect Sam to be vocally supportive of her friend at a difficult time.
But, while Sam’s sister Billie has put up encouraging Instagram posts and appeared in public with Ferne since her ex, Arthur Collins, was arrested last month, 26-yearold Sam’s been absent. “When Ferne revealed she was pregnant, Sam sent her these supportive messages, but when it came to meeting up, she kept making excuses,” says our insider. “When she didn’t say anything about Ferne’s pregnancy and her This
Morning interview in public, things came to a head. Basically, it seems like Sam’s worried about her image and career, especially as she thinks she’s got a chance to crack the ‘mummy market’ in the US. Ferne’s having a lot of mood swings about it: one minute she’s crying and the next she’s angry. Right now, she feels like Sam’s turned her back on her.”
Our insider says that Sam’s silence is not about Ferne, 26, personally – it’s about Arthur, who was arrested last month and remanded in custody. He’s charged with 14 counts of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and one count of throwing corrosive fluid on a person with intent to do grievous bodily harm, after being linked to an acid attack in an East London club. After the attack, Ferne immediately split with him, and has since announced she’s three months pregnant with his baby. Last week, she called the pregnancy “a blessing”, adding that the public had been “so supportive”.
Our insider says, “It’s a shame, as Ferne needs all friends she can get right now.”
