Baby Bear gets a walk-in wardrobe
His mum and dad have gone a tad OTT…
Being a new mum is tough. There’s the lack of sleep, the relatives who dish out unsolicited advice, the endless crying and nappy changes and, of course, the big question: where do you store your baby’s extensive designer clothes collection when it gets too big for the nursery?
Yes, that’s right – Cheryl and Liam Payne are facing their biggest parenting challenge yet, as baby Bear’s posh wardrobe has officially outgrown his nursery, and, insiders tell us, his parents are having to turn one of the rooms of their Surrey mansion into a walk-in wardrobe. Or is that a crawl-in wardrobe?
“Cheryl has bought him so many outfits, shoes and hats that his clothes are no longer fitting in the nursery and they’re having to make a walk-in wardrobe for him,” says heat ’s insider. “She’s been buying clothes online from LA and the UK – some of it’s the traditional stuff that Prince George wears. She’s been given loads as presents, too. Everything’s designer – it’s probably worth thousands.”
Before Bear was born in March, Cheryl had been telling friends that she wanted to give him a “normal” upbringing like she and Liam had, and didn’t want to spoil him. But clearly Liam had other ideas, buying his son designer labels and flash trainers designed by Kanye West. “He’s decked out. He’s got little baby Yeezys,” Liam said last month. “You gotta go to work. I understand why I am here and there is more reason to be here now to earn a living and make sure he has the best things ever, because I didn’t have that when I was a kid and I want him to have that. He’s already got his little Gucci baby clothes, so he’s already getting started.”
Liam’s former One Direction bandmate Niall Horan has also been adding to the designer haul, telling heat that he’d bought Bear a pair of trainers… and we’re sure they weren’t from Primark (we’re also pretty sure Bear can’t walk).
Now, the friend tells us, the besotted new mum has followed Liam’s lead and has become obsessed with kitting her son out in labels, too. “Cheryl talks about Bear’s ‘look’ a lot,” says the source. “She loves to dress him up. But even Liam’s saying, ‘I think we have enough now.’” n
