FINALLY! Beyoncé shows the world just how cute those babies are in their first shoot

She kept us hanging on for a month, but Beyoncé didn’t disappoint when she finally gave us a glimpse of her twins, Sir and Rumi (more on those names later). Posing in the grounds of the family’s luxury rental in Malibu, Bey cradled her new babies in typical low-key style in front of a massive flower shrine, wearing some frilly knickers, a long, flowing robe and a blue veil.
Of course, this wasn’t an impromptu shoot – it had taken weeks of planning between Beyoncé and her sister Solange (we don’t think Jay Z had much say in the whole thing). “Bey wanted to look amazing in the first photos of her and the twins, as well as giving fans a picture that she loved before the twins got papped by someone else,” an insider tells heat, adding, “It was meticulously planned by Beyoncé and her sister – Solange styled it and found the dress.”
The photo was again taken by artist Awol Erizku, who snapped Bey’s pregnancy-reveal pics, and was inspired by the same concept – 15th-century painting The Birth of Venus. And all the effort was worth it. The image had already received over five million likes on Instagram in less than six hours. Take that, Kim K!
Bey also confirmed the names of the babies. And, while we thought her son was just called Sir, our source confirms he will be known as Sir Carter and won’t have a surname. It seems Sir Carter Carter is a bit too much, even for Bey and Jay. “As the only son of Beyoncé and Jay Z, he needed a name that made a statement and Sir Carter does just that,” our insider adds.
Despite only giving birth one month ago, Beyoncé – who’s also mum to five-year-old Blue Ivy – already looks back to her best. She was seen for the first time in public the same day the snap was released, enjoying a night out with Jay as they went for a romantic meal at Nobu in Malibu.
“Bey is up and about and feeling good, and she wanted to make the most of a night off from the kids with Jay,” says our source. “She’s really content and enjoying being in a family of five.” n KATE RANDALL
