As Cheryl prepares her big comeback, she’s asked an old WAG friend for help – enter Victoria Beckham
VB has made a pact to help her old WAG mate become a power brand with Liam
With Cheryl planning her big showbiz comeback and boyfriend Liam Payne gearing up for the release of his second solo single (not to mention the small matter of looking after fourmonth-old Bear ), it’s certainly a busy time in the Payne/tweedy household. Luckily for them, we’re hearing that they’ve found themselves two showbiz guardian angels – in the form of David and Victoria Beckham, no less.
heat’s learned that Chiam have upped their friendship with the ultimate celebrity couple, as they lean on them for advice on how to create a worldwide brand. While Cheryl’s been friends with Posh since their WAG days – aside from that awks falling out – Liam and David now share the same management team, bringing the two couples closer together.
“Cheryl and Victoria have grown closer since Bear was born. Vic’s been supportive, as she knows how hard it is with a new baby when you’re in the spotlight,” says heat’s insider. “And with Liam and David hanging out more, it has renewed their bond. Both Cheryl and Liam really look up to the Beckhams – the way they’ve handled their fame, built a multimillion-pound brand and have a happy family life. That’s what they aspire to, so they’ve been asking for tips and advice. Posh has made a pledge to help them in any way she can.”
David and Victoria – who have Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 14, Cruz, 12, and six-year-old Harper – are currently spending the summer at their home in LA, as they do every year. We’ve been told that Liam, Cheryl and Bear are also due to fly out to Holly wood at some point over the next few weeks, and they’ve had an exclusive invite to Chez Beckham. Oh, what we’d give to be a fly on that wall.
“Liam has a house in LA, so they’ll stay there, but David and Victoria have told them they must come over,” our insider continues. “The Beckhams’ house is huge and very private, so they can get
together without people watching and really relax. David and Victoria love entertaining, they’re very generous hosts, and Harper’s at that age where she’ll love helping to look after Bear.”
We’re hearing that Cheryl, 34, is keen to seek advice on how her and Liam, 23, can become a worldwide brand. She’s already considering an offer to return as a guest judge on The X Factor this year and is keen to make more music. While she wants Bear to be out of the spotlight, her dream is to turn herself and Liam into a worldwide power couple, combining their singing careers with lucrative endorsement deals and emulating the Beckhams’ success.
“Everyone knows what a great businesswoman Victoria is, and how she’s always been the brains behind Brand Beckham,” says our source. “Cheryl really admires how she’s done this while still maintaining a happy home life, and wants to know what Victoria thinks she should do next when it comes to work and kids.”
