She’s used to playing out her life on camera, but Katie Price will not be enjoying her latest starring role. In a dramatic power swap, she’s found herself under the watchful gaze of husband Kieran Hayler, who has pulled out all the stops to ensure he has his eye on her at all times. Because nothing says love like CCTV.
“Kieran’s installed cameras on her car,” a source close to the couple tells heat. “He says it’s for her own safety, but it seems it’s also so he can watch her every move. The tables have turned in their relationship, with him now checking up on her. It was his idea for them to have a reality show, and he knew that she’d have cameras following her everywhere she goes.”
It’s well known that, over the past three years, Katie, 39, has majorly clamped down on Kieran – ever since she caught him cheating with her former friends Jane Pountney and Chrissy Thomas (not that she ever mentions it). In the years that followed, Kieran, 30, has transformed from six-pack stripper to stay-at-home farmhand dad. But since he found flirty texts Katie sent to DJ Tom Zanetti – who the model worked with in Miami in May, ahead of her big musical, er, comeback – he’s been giving her a taste of her own, medicine. Insiders fear that both are now locked in a battle of surveillance.
“Everyone knows they have trust issues and they’ve been open about it,” our source tells us. “Kieran will sometimes even check Katie’s milometer before and after a trip, to see where she’s been. He always offers to start her car up, saying it’s to make it cooler for her by turning on the air con, but since the episode with DJ Tom Zanetti, he occasionally checks the miles, too.”
According to our insider, Kieran’s fed up of Katie being able to do whatever she wants while he’s at home with the kids, and he’s now out to reclaim some authority. “She has CCTV installed everywhere, so when she’s not even there, she can still see it via a phone app,” our source says. “Kieran feels like these are double standards, and it’s reached boiling point. But unfortunately for Kieran, you can only push the Pricey so far. Apparently, his possessiveness has made her more defiant and determined to have her own way.”
“Katie can’t help but take some pleasure in the storm created by her shenanigans,” our insider adds. “She knows that Kieran wouldn’t dream of cheating again, as it would mean a divorce and he’d get virtually nothing due to the prenup.
