WDYTYA family-tree treatment is the great Emma Willis, who’s shown she can present pretty much anything TV. But will she succumb to the tears that most of this show’s subjects shed once they get to the emosh bits of their ancestors’ lives? Well, she grew up in Birmingham and wants to find out how deep her roots are there, but she soon discovers a mixed marriage in Ireland that leads her down two very different paths. Em also has to confront disturbing truths about one relative, while on a more positive note, another family member seems to have lived a life of hard graft and determination.
