Uh-oh – cracks are starting to show in Victoria and David’s marriage

-

Admittedly not everyone looks their best after a tough workout, but David and Victoria Beckham were looking pretty pissed off as they left a gym in LA last week, appearing tense and distant from each as they made their way to their car. And it’s hardly surprising, given the recent reports about the state of their marriage. From claims they’re living separate lives to stories they’re arguing about David’s partying, what is really going on between our favourite couple? Could it be the end of the world as we know it?

“There are some strains on the marriage right now, but both Victoria and David are aiming to work through it,” heat’s insider reveals. “Vic always thought that when David gave up football [he retired in 2014], it would free him up and they would get to spend more time together as a couple. But in fact, it’s almost been the opposite. David still has a lot of other work commitments and he’s been going out partying with his friends a lot more, too, as well as going on boys’ trips away. He’s got a lot more freedom to do that now he no longer has to stick to training and match schedules, and he wants to make the most of it. While they love spending time together as a family, both Victoria and David have different interests and don’t always enjoy the same things, and this can sometimes cause tension.”

While David and Victoria have

shared friends such as Gordon and Tana Ramsay, David has his own lad mates, including director Guy Ritchie, whose wedding David attended by himself a couple of years ago. And it seems David and Guy will be spending more time together, as the Beckhams’ new Cotswolds home is not far from Guy’s estate, and is set to be completed by the end of the year.

However, we’re told Posh is not yet as sold on the property as David. It also reportedly has his-and-hers wings, meaning everyone in the family can have their space if they want it. “David is much more into the country life than Vic,” the source says. “He’s really embraced it, and loves going shooting and then having a pint in the local afterwards – Victoria’s idea of hell. He wants to spend more time there once the house is completed, but Vic would much prefer to go to LA when they’re not in London. But they both know they have to make compromises.”

Although it’s a normal occurrence for many couples who have been together for 20 years and have four children – Posh and Becks are parents to Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 15, Cruz, 12, and six-year-old Harper – the Beckhams’ romantic gestures have certainly dwindled. David always used to whisk Victoria off for a romantic break for her birthday, but this year they didn’t even spend the day together, flying out of LAX on separate planes after a family dinner at Nobu in Malibu the night
