Desperate Mel B signs up for reality show

She’s hoping a tell-all series will help pay for her expensive divorce…

-

As heat told you last week, Mel B has been forced to turn to her friends to bail her out of her sticky financial situation following her split from husband Stephen Belafonte. Now it looks like she’s found a lifeline, as we’ve been told she’s close to signing a big reality TV deal, which could be worth serious money.

While her previous stab at reality TV fame didn’t go to plan (her 2010 show,

It’s A Scary World, ran for just one season), it sounds like this could be exactly what Mel’s been praying for – especially after blowing most of her $38million fortune and being ordered to pay Stephen $40k a month in spousal support.

“Mel has been in talks with the E! TV channel about having another show, and she’s promised nothing will be off-topic,” says our source. “E! are keen to sign her up, as they think it could be a massive hit for them, and Mel is desperate for the cash. She knows she was stupid with money before, but she doesn’t want to give up her A-list lifestyle – and she doesn’t think she should have to.” As well as getting some cash, mum-of-three Mel is looking forward to getting the truth out there, which could be worrying for some of her celeb mates. “She wants to tell her side of the story,” our insider adds. “The show will cover everything from the break-up with Stephen and her reconciliation with her mum and her sister [who she became estranged from, as they did not like Stephen], to how she’s coping on her own and getting ready to date again. She’ll also reveal which of her famous friends have really stood by her during this tough time. “She’s not afraid to upset anybody and will be very open and honest.”
