She really, really wants to stay low-key
Where is Taylor Swift, these days? Good question. For several months, the singer has barely been seen, disappearing from public view and social media (apart from very occasionally plugging her friends’ music).
But you can call off your search, because heat has found her. It turns out that Taylor, 27, is under self-imposed lockdown at her Rhode Island home, working on her new album and taking some time away from the spotlight after 2016’s never-ending publicity parade (this time last year, we were in the thick of #Hiddleswift). And we’re told that the singer is keen to maintain this new anonymity.
“Taylor’s been in hardcore work mode, finishing off her album and avoiding the press,” an insider close to the singer tells heat. “But it’s not easy for her to have privacy, even in her own home. She has a rotating team of people shop for her at a rotating list of grocery stores, so it doesn’t get out that any one person is Taylor’s shopper. She also has a few Amazon Prime accounts under fake names. She’s become an online shopaholic – she’s been buying comfy clothes to wear around the house, hair products, anything. She gets takeaways with various assistants’ accounts as well.”
The singer has also been spending a lot of her downtime with boyfriend Joe Alwyn, 26, who she secretly started dating earlier this year. As well as being spotted having breakfast together on a balcony in Nashville last month, there have also been reported sightings of the pair wandering around the streets of Crouch End, north London, where Joe still lives with his parents.
“If she has any meetings – or if she’s flying somewhere – she’ll leave in the middle of the night,” our source adds. “She’s dedicated to her sabbatical, and it shows. It’s amazing that, when a star wants their privacy, they can get it.”
Let’s just hope she paid her assistants back for those takeaways.
