Keeping up with Khloé and Tristan
He’s now a fully-fledged member of the Kardashians…
He vowed not to appear on TV with girlfriend of 11 months Khloé Kardashian, but – as Tristan Thompson has found out – those Kardashians can be a frighteningly persuasive bunch.
Now, the basketball player, 26, has agreed to take part in a new Keeping Up With Kardashians spin-off show, and the couple have already eyed-up an eight-bedroom rental property in LA to film in.
“They’re deep in discussions about a six-part spin-off series, and have been looking for the perfect residential backdrop for the show – the properties they’ve looked at are huge,” heat’s source reveals.
One factor for Tristan was how involved Khloé’s family would be, but thankfully for him, momager Kris Jenner won’t be interfering. “Tristan doesn’t want to feel like he’s under the family’s thumb, but Khloé’s promised that she won’t let them call the shots,” says our insider. “Khloé’s asking for an Executive Producer credit on the show, so she’s in charge. She has a strong vision, and has already told Kris they won’t be participating in fake drama for ratings.
“There are also plans in place to include an interactive online version, which allows viewers to choose whose viewpoint they want to experience. So, Khloé, Tristan and anyone in shot will be wearing body cameras.”
And the show may even feature Tristan’s seven-month-old son, Prince, along with his ex-girlfriend – and Prince’s mother – Jordan Craig. “They haven’t started shooting anything yet, but the pre-production is in full swing and they’ve started doing pre-interviews with Tristan’s ex-girlfriend, Jordan,” says our
source. “It was really important to Khloé to get her on board. She wants to show what a great father Tristan is, and there’s no way they’d be able to have Prince on the show without approval from Jordan.
“Khloé knew the best way to get what she wanted was to offer Jordan a part on the show, too – along with a fat pay cheque.”
While it may not be everybody’s dream to appear on TV with their boyfriend’s ex, this all comes as a welcome distraction for 33-yearold Khloé. She’s recently been the subject of online abuse after it was revealed that OJ Simpson is to be released from prison in October. Reports have previously claimed that the former NFL player is her real father and, despite always denying this, she’s upset she’s got to face it again.
“This is hard on all the family, but Khloé is suffering the most. Trolls started coming after her the moment he got parole – it’s a heartbreaking reminder that Robert [Kardashian, Khloé’s father] is no longer here,” says our source. “Tristan took her out for dinner the other week to cheer her up, but her eyes were so puffy from crying , she had to wear sunglasses.”
Let’s just hope the new show has a better outcome than the one with ex-husband Lamar Odom…
