She’s undoubtedly the smartest of the Kardashians, but Kourtney doesn’t want to waste her brain just counting her cash. heat can reveal she’s decided to go back to college – and what’s more, she’s decided to study law.

“Kourtney probably doesn’t have to work for the rest of her life, but that’s not how she rolls,” an insider tells heat. “She already has a degree [in Theatre Arts and Spanish], but she’s always wanted to go back to school, and thinks now is the perfect time. She nearly signed up last year, but things were falling apart with [on/off partner] Scott Disick, so she put it off, but really regrets it. She’s in a better place to get her head in the books now.”

When it came to choosing her speciality, the mum of three decided to pull an Elle Woods in Legally Blonde and study law in honour of her late father, Rob Kardashian, who famously defended OJ Simpson. Our source says, “Kourt’s proud of her dad, and knows he always wanted her to be a lawyer. She’s already looking into doing an online course, so she can still be around the kids.”

Kourtney, 38, finally ended things with Scott, 34, last year, after nine years together, but it’s only in the past few months that the star has shown she’s moving on, after going public with 23-year-old model, Younes Bendjima. Now sources say her decision to continue her studies (she’s the only member of the family to have gone to uni) is part of her bigger plan to put her troubles with Scott behind her for good and begin a new chapter.

“For so many years, she let Scott suck her energy,” says our insider. “Between raising her kids and trying to save him, she never had much time left for herself. This past year has been all about changing that dynamic – she wants to have passion and direction again. She doesn’t want to end up wondering, ‘What if ?’ in 20 years’ time.”
