Halt And Catch Fire AMAZON PRIME VIDEO, 20 AUGUST

A prime contender for Best TV Drama On Its Fourth Season That You Might Never Have Heard Of, this very well-made show chronicles the rocky birth of the tech industry and the internet in the ’80s and early ’90s. This also happens to be the final season, but all the episodes so far are up on Amazon Prime, while these new ones – starting with a two-hour season opener – will air weekly the day after they go out in the States on AMC, home of

The Walking Dead. As this run kicks off, Joe (Lee Pace) is helping to develop web browsers and stuff in Silicon Valley, but conflict is never far away. Boyd Hilton

Death Note NETFLIX, FRIDAY 25 AUGUST

One of the most highly anticipated Netflix-exclusive one-off movies, this horror yarn directed by Adam Wingard (Blair Witch, You’re Next) is based on a famous Japanese manga comic about a high-school student (Nat Wolff from Paper Towns), who comes across a supernatural notebook. It turns out if the owner inscribes someone’s name into it while picturing their face, he or she will die. Which is obviously not good news. Matters get even worse when said student gets powercrazed with his new godlike abilities and starts to kill those he decides are unworthy of life. Willem Dafoe provides the creepy voice of the book.
