Louise revives pop career as Jamie’s left in limbo

Her marriage is the last thing on her mind

-

Ah, the ’90s. What a decade for pop music – the Spice Girls, Take That, Britney Spears and, er, Louise Redknapp. Yes, you may have forgotten all about Louise’s stint as a solo singer, but we haven’t here at heat (Naked is a very underrated tune), so we’re thrilled to hear that she’s launching a solo comeback.

Posting a selfie from a recording studio, she wrote, “I got to work with some amazing people this week, thanks guys I loved it.” It turns out these “amazing people” have been working with Lou as she gears up to star in a UK tour of Cabaret, and have given her the confidence to reboot her music career. However, her plans will have dealt another blow to her estranged husband Jamie, who, as we told you last week, is desperate to try and win her back and whisk her off for a make-or-break holiday.

“This is yet more evidence that Louise is moving on from her life with Jamie, and making the most of the opportunities that come her way,” says heat’s insider. “He is keen for them to work through their issues, but at the moment, she doesn’t seem as keen. Lou would never have had the confidence to even think about relaunching her pop career a few years ago, but she’s a changed woman. She knows she’s got to do it now if she wants any kind of success, and she can’t afford to hang around. She’s not taking it too seriously, but at the moment, sorting out her future with Jamie is not her priority.” Louise, 42, met Jamie, 44, back in her singing days. They set the precedent for pop star/footballer romances, and were together for over 20 years before this summer’s shock split. They have two sons, Charley, 13, and Beau, eight, and although the Strictly star remains devoted to them and they will always comefirst, she doesn’t want to turn down any opportunities. “Lou knows she needs to cash in on her current popularity right now, especially as the new series of Strictly starts next month and people may start to lose interest,” heat’s source adds. “The pop comeback is a bit of fun, and she isn’t bothered if it’s a massive success. She knows she will have to sort out her marriage at some point, but for now it can wait.” n
