Taylor ticks Kanye off her list... BUT WHO’S NEXT?
We’re not sure anyone in showbiz is safe from her wrath
After a three-year break, Taylor Swift finally released some new music last week – and it didn’t disappoint. Listening to her new single Look What You Made Me Do, it was clear to anyone listening that it was all about her infamous fallout with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian last year. And we’re told that’s just the tip of the iceberg, as Tay gears up for the release of her latest album Reputation in November.
“Taylor never holds back with her music, and this album has been years in the making, so there are a lot of things she wants to put right,” an insider tells heat. “There will be a song about her doomed relationship with Tom Hiddleston, as there’s not a love of love lost there. Since the last album, there’s also been her Twitter spat with [ex-boyfriend] Calvin
‘Taylor never holds back in her music’
Harris and, of course, there’s the ongoing drama with Katy Perry. Even though they say they have forgiven each other, Taylor has a couple of issues. She always likes to get her side of the story across, and the fact her album is called Reputation is rather telling.”
Taylor, 27, fell out with Kimye last year after Kanye released his song Famous, which included the lines, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why?
I made that bitch famous.” The video for the song also depicted a waxwork Taylor in bed with Kanye and Kim. Kanye claimed Taylor had given him permission to rap those lines. Taylor denied this, saying she’d only given permission to promote the song via her Twitter. Kim then released a video call of Taylor apparently agreeing that Kanye could rap about her – leading to a negative backlash against Tay.
We’re told what happened in the aftermath of that spat really upset Taylor and she wanted to release Look What You Made Me Do to show how far she’s come. “The whole Kimye argument was really tough on Taylor, as it’s the most negative response she’s ever had,” our insider continues. “But she’s showing that she can take a really negative experience like that and turn it into something positive. She’s in a very strong place right now.”
So, it appears it’ll be Tom Hiddleston who has the most to worry about. Their two-month love affair was played out in front of the cameras (who can forget Tom in his wet “I ❤ TS” T-shirt?), but then the Thor actor dumped her without warning. “Taylor was really hurt by the whole experience with Tom,” our source reveals. “But this is one of the many things that has made her stronger over the past year.”
The insider adds, “Taking a break helped a lot, and she’s now really loved-up with Joe [Alwyn, her new Brit actor boyfriend]. Being in such a healthy relationship has been amazing, but she’s not afraid to sing about the bad times and pour her heart out.”
Oh, we know that. Be afraid, Tom, be very afraid.
