Coleen’s turmoil over Wayne’s arrest

While the wife’s away, Wayne will play…

Has Wayne Rooney not heard of Uber? Last week the former England captain was arrested and charged with drink-driving after night out, while wife Coleen and their three sons were on holiday. What’s more, it was claimed he was driving a mystery woman home when he was arrested. Understandably, Mrs Rooney was not impressed when she read the stories.

Not only is she pregnant with their fourth child, this is the latest in a long line of messes Wayne has got himself into, and she’s concerned that he could have allowed this to happen. “Coleen is very upset,” a source tells heat. “She has no problem with him going out and having a few drinks with his mates from time to time, but of course she’s worried by the claims he was drink driving. Sometimes, it feels like he never learns from his mistakes.”

According to reports, Wayne, 31, was out drinking at the Bubble Room in Alderley Edge, just a few miles away from the Cheshire mansion he shares with Coleen and sons, Kai, seven, Klay, four, and 20-month-old Kit. Onlookers say he was dancing on the tables and singing Oasis songs before police pulled him over on his way home, with reports claiming he was three times over the legal limit.

Wayne’s arrest comes less than a year after he was seen “stumbling around” and could “hardly speak” after crashing a wedding following an England match. In May, it was reported he’d gambled away £500k in just two hours during a drunken night out at a casino. And who could forget Wayne’s dalliances with prostitutes, both when he was 16 and while Coleen was pregnant with Kai back in 2009?

Despite retiring from international duty, Wayne recently re-signed to boyhood club Everton and promised to be on his best behaviour, which is another reason why Coleen, 31, is so mad. “She wants Wayne to be a success at Everton, and knows he needs to be in top condition to do that,” our source adds. “This doesn’t look good, especially as he’s a role model to so many young boys, including his sons. Of course, she’ll support him, but she’ll make it clear this cannot happen again – she doesn’t need the added stress in her life at the moment.”

Perhaps she can find him the number of a local taxi firm? ■
