You can see it in her eyes: this was Y the moment Taylor Swift – that once super-sweet country music star – died inside. Eight years ago, at the MTV VMAS, Kanye West leapt on stage as the singer accepted the Best Female Video award. A shocked audience gasped as he screamed the amazingly meme-able line, “Taylor, I’mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time!” The camera panned to a mortified-looking Bey, the audience booed, the US President later labelled Kanye a “jackass” and thus, the best A-list feud of a generation was born. By 2015, the pair had apparently put the fuss behind them, as Taylor presented her former nemesis with an award and declared, “I’m going to let you finish, but Kanye West has had one of the greatest careers of all time.” But when Kanye later released Famous, rapping, “I made that bitch famous,” and featured a Taylor-alike in his music video, all hell broke loose.
