A “row” is when you plank with weights, as demonstrated here, and then pull alternate dumbbells into your chest. “We work our triceps more in everyday life, say by pushing doors open, but our biceps get somewhat neglected, since we don’t pull things as much,” says Pamela. “A plank row works these ‘pull’ arm muscles nicely.” Pam suggests taking a slightly different position to Kourt, with your arms further back, as “you will be able to row your arms more effectively”.
