Remember Mark Wright, that international, globe-trotting Dj/model/soccer hero? No, us neither. But that hasn’t stopped the former TOWIE Lothario being introduced to America in those terms. Last week, Mark made his debut as US TV show Extra’s newest presenter and, in the process, schooled us all in the art of spin. In a montage video, our Wrighty was praised as the UK’S biggest export. He was seen fronting massive ad campaigns (like, er, flogging Oykos yogurt), scoring goals for England (it quickly swept over the fact it was a charity footie match – you know, the one where he had a run-in with Danny Dyer) and being a general A-list “thrill seeker, who boxes, dances and swims with sharks”. In all fairness to Mark, history is written by the winners, so far be it from us to pooh-pooh his bio. Who cares if it’s full of more baloney than Nanny Pat’s sausage plait?
