Has Kate’s baby ruined Meghan’s big day?
A pregnancy trumps everything, apparently
Talk about stealing a girl’s thunder. Just as Meghan Markle gives her first interview about Prince Harry, confirming they’re in love and giving the strongest hint yet that they’re about to get engaged, Kate Middleton goes and announces she’s pregnant with her third child. And, what’s more, the arrival of a new prince or princess means Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry may have to be pushed back, so the two big events don’t clash.
heat’s been told that a royal wedding next year had been looking increasingly likely, with April a distinct possibility, but with the new baby due around then, it now won’t happen. “Although Meghan and Harry aren’t officially engaged, this interview shows how serious they are, and it’s now only a matter of time before an announcement is made,” heat’s source explains. “But Kate and William’s
baby news has kind of overshadowed that. With the baby being expected in April, a wedding definitely won’t take place before then – and it’ll probably be a good few months after the arrival. It could now be another year before Meghan gets to marry her man, as a lot of planning has to go into a royal wedding. William will no doubt act as Harry’s best man and Kate will want to be there with the children, but probably wouldn’t want to come with a newborn baby. But, obviously, Meghan and Harry are really thrilled for Kate and William.”
In the Vanity Fair interview, Meghan, 36, confirmed she and Harry had been dating for nearly 18 months, and added, “We’re a couple. We’re in love. I’m sure there will be a time when we will have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our time. This is for us. It’s part of what makes it so special, that it’s just ours. But we’re happy. Personally, I love a great love story.”
Especially one that hopefully ends with a ceremony at Westminster Abbey, eh?
