The loved-up pair are getting Maui-ed
Everyone loves a celebrity wedding – and when the bride is the one and only Britney Spears, you know it’s going to be something special. Following a secret proposal with a $50k ring from boyfriend Sam Asghari, the pair are now quietly making plans for a big day next autumn on the Hawaiian island of Kauai. And you can expect a couple of, er, quirky details…
“They’re engaged,” says heat’s insider close to the singer, 35, and her model boyfriend, Sam, 23, who started dating last November after meeting on the set of Brit’s Slumber
Party music video. After winning over Brit’s father Jamie, the source reveals that Sam “gave her a $50,000, six-carat princess-cut diamond ring and proposed with help from Brit’s boys [Sean Preston and Jaden James]. They buried the ring in a box of cotton candy and when Britney bit into it, she nearly broke her tooth. Everyone’s thrilled, but they’re keeping the engagement a secret for now. Britney’s stashed the ring in a safety deposit box until she’s ready to announce the news.”
But that doesn’t mean they’re not already making wedding plans. “It will be next fall, so they have plenty of time to plan,” says the insider. “The guestlist is family and close friends only, but Brit wants [Hawaiian native] Bruno Mars to serenade her. The theme will be both their cultures – Persia meets Mississippi – so there will be grits, Mississippi mud pie and Louisiana fried chicken, along with tributes to Sam’s Iranian heritage. That means $350 tins of caviar, kebab, houmous and fesenjoon, which is stewed pomegranate puree, ground walnuts, chopped onions, and balls of ground meat.”
