The TOWIE star has transformed his looks
He’s transformed before our very eyes over the past six months – beating his addictions for good following a ten-week stint in rehab in Thailand, and shedding 4st in the process. But James “Arg” Argent was just getting started.
Earlier this month, he went where (admittedly) many Essex folk have gone before – the surgeon’s chair – and got himself a new nose. Taking exclusive snaps of his shiny new sniffer for heat as soon as the bandages were off, Arg tells us why having surgery has done wonders for his confidence…
So, what made you decide to get this done?
I always knew I had a big nose, but it grew bigger as the years went on. Since I’ve lost weight, I’ve noticed it a lot more. All I wanted was to straighten out the bump on my nose and get my nostrils reduced. I still wanted a strong, manly nose, like Robert De Niro.
Were you ever bullied about your nose?
No. If I was going to get bullied, the focus would have probably been on my weight. But I did get bantered, and I had the nickname “Nostrils”.
You’ve made some big lifestyle changes – is that why you chose to have surgery now?
Yeah, this is another example of me progressing and bettering myself. Since I came back from Thailand, I’ve lost 4st, been on
Celebs Go Dating, I’m back on TOWIE, I’m also doing a little bit of Ferne [Mccann’s] new show, and I’m looking to buy a house.
Tell us about the procedure…
Mario [Falcone] recommended the surgeon who did his nose, Riccardo Frati, who is fantastic. There wasn’t too much pain and I was put under [anaesthetic] for about two hours. I had a splint on for almost a week, and then bandages. When I first saw it, my eyes were tiny and there was so much swelling, but it’s exactly how I wanted it now.
Do you think your nose will help you find The One?
Yeah, I think if you feel confident in yourself, then that will make an impact. Women like a confident man and you can’t love anyone else until you love yourself. Knowing I had a big nose didn’t stop me chatting up women, but this is an improvement.
