Jessica Simpson was a bit wobbly on her feet last week, and friends are worried about her partying
Friends warn: ‘You need help now’
We’ve all been there – had five too many during a night out, lost all ability to walk and had to be carried home (haven’t we?). But as a bleary-eyed Jessica Simpson stumbled out of husband Eric Johnson’s birthday party last week, we’re told this was not a one-off, and friends and family are concerned about her. “This is not the first time Jessica has been seen like this in public,” an insider tells heat. “Her family have been worried about her for some time.” The mum of two has been seen staggering about in the street on several occasions recently, and we’re told friends want her to get help. But, the insider adds, “She’s so single-minded, she doesn’t seem to listen.” And the partying is having an impact on her diet, too, say friends of the singer – who also runs a billion-dollar business selling clothes, shoes, bags and beauty products. “Jess goes through these phases where she starves herself and drops weight for a few months,” says the source. Back in 2012, Jess lost 60lbs in 2012 as the face of Weight Watchers, but the friend says, “Her willpower is terrible these days, and it never lasts long. Sooner or later she’s back out partying again and the weight goes straight back on. It doesn’t help that she loves stuff like white wine and Champagne, which she can drink by the bucket load. She can really cut loose when she wants to.”
The shocking new pictures came weeks after Jessica, 37, was spotted looking unsteady on her feet at LAX airport. “She had spent the whole flight from New York to LA knocking back Champagne and demanding snacks,” our source says. “By the time she arrived on the West Coast, she was totally drunk. She was a completely different woman from the one who looked so polished when she left New York.
“She’s not good at handling her alcohol, but she has reassured her friends and family, and insists she’s just living life as a normal person.” ■
