She finally gets her longed-for baby (or babies)
‘She wants a hand-painted mural that will cost $30,000’
She’s more loved-up than she has been in years, so we’ve been awaiting an official announcement ever since first bringing you the news she was expecting in August. And last week, it was all but confirmed, with several sources telling us that Khloé’s finally having a baby of her own after her much-publicised fertility struggles.
Sources say the ecstatic star again turned to IVF to fall pregnant with boyfriend Tristan, having first had treatment six years ago while married to Lamar Odom. In fact, there has even been speculation she’s having twins as a result.
“It’s fairly common knowledge within Khloé’s circle that she was having fertility treatments during the months leading up to her pregnancy, which is why there’s so much buzz that she could be expecting twins,” an insider close to the 33 year old tells us. “Khloé made no secret of her burning desire to be a mum, so once Tristan was committed to trying, she explored every option available. She’s not confirming anything, but she’s not denying the rumours about twins, either.”
Meanwhile, the star isn’t sparing any expense when it comes to spoiling her much-longed for baby or babies. Our source tells us, “She’s determined to give her family – and herself – absolutely the best money can buy. She’s already transformed a wing of her home into a nursery. She’s got a $6,900 Nursery Works Lydian Crib, a $5,000 Roddler custommade stroller and a number of bassinets and other furniture. Her assistants are arriving daily with armloads of stuff , and she’s going to have a mural hand-painted on one of the walls that will cost $30,000.”
Khloé’s journey to motherhood was last seen on series 13 of KUWTK last year, when the star was filmed visiting a fertility doctor. Informed that she had fewer egg follicles than normal for her age, she told the cameras that she was “at a crossroads”. But it seems the star and her basketball player beau took the next step in the interim, and she’s now doing everything she can to ensure a healthy pregnancy.
Our source tells us, “Diet and fitness is important to Khloé, but she wants to make sure anything she does or eats is safe. She’s got her own chef, but she’ll have two in the future – one to feed her and one to prepare home-made baby food. That alone will set her back a couple hundred thousand dollars.”
We’d say having a baby is priceless, but maybe we just don’t know where to shop…
In among the flurry of pregnancy headlines last week was one very hacked-off Kim Kardashian. Insiders say the reality star – who confirmed her baby news last week after months of speculation – is livid at being outshone by her sisters, and is also struggling with the fact that, while they’re both pregnant, another woman is carrying her child.
“There’s a huge sense of competition, with each of them vying for attention and making catty comments behind the others’ backs,” says an insider close to the 36 year old, whose baby is due in January, just weeks before her sisters. Kim had difficult pregnancies with North and Saint, which is why she and Kanye West have turned to a surrogate – a married mum-of-two in her late twenties, whose identity was reportedly leaked online last week. “Kim’s saying Kylie isn’t ready for the responsibility of motherhood and is moaning that her and Kanye’s baby will be overshadowed by her sisters’ pregnancies. There is a lot of bitchiness going on right now.” But Kim has a plan. “She’s thinking about keeping her baby’s birth a secret for as long as possible so she can whip up excitement and win the spotlight back,” says the insider. “It wouldn’t be hard for her to keep everyone guessing, since nobody knows exactly when and where her surrogate will give birth. She’s already planning clandestine visits to hospitals and clinics as part of the charade. It will generate lots of buzz. She really wanted to bask in the glory of introducing her baby right away, but Khloé and Kylie have ruined that for her, so this is her next best option.”
