Michelle’s not happy with the possibility of Mark getting a laddish LA roomie

Remember when your boyfriend shared a flat with that mate who hated showering, and staying over meant yelling for missing toilet paper and scouring the fridge for anything besides beer? Well, spare a thought for Michelle Keegan, because – despite being 30 and married – her husband Mark Wright is planning to move into an La-based “lads pad”. And he’s got an unlikely housemate lined up in the form of former X Factor winner James Arthur.
The singer revealed last week that he’d recently bonded with Mark – who he first met three years ago at a charity football match – at The Standard Hotel in Los Angeles over “a couple of glasses of whisky”, and that they’d talked about sharing a flat in Hollywood. He added, “It would be a pretty cool flat.”
Word is, they may now have started eyeing up properties together. But news of the potential merger has come as something of a surprise to Michelle, 30.
“She feels as though it would be a step back for Mark,” a source close to the actress tells heat. “She’s really not on board with him living with James, and feels it may be a distraction from him doing his best in his work. She was furious when she heard that he’d been talking to James about moving in.”
Mark waved Essex goodbye in early September and upped sticks to LA to start his new gig as a presenter on US show Extra. He’s since been living in a hotel in Hollywood. But while it’s been reported that Michelle, who is currently filming the third series of Our
Girl in Malaysia, is planning to join him on a more permanent basis after Christmas, he’s been getting lonely in the meantime.
“Michelle’s just not sure of James,” our insider tells us. “Even though James has a girlfriend [dancer Jess Grist], Michelle still worries that he could be a bad influence on Mark.” The singer has been open in the past about his addiction to marijuana and prescription pills following his X Factor win in 2012, losing his record deal the following year.
Our sources adds, “Of course Michelle wants Mark to enjoy himself in LA, but she just doesn’t like the idea of him living a bachelor lifestyle out there while she’s working all hours of the day on set.”
We wonder who’ll be on washing-up duty...
