Mark gets a work wife
The presenter is enjoying a new on-set BFF
He’s admitted to being “lonely” working on his new show 5,000 miles away in LA, but Mark Wright has found a solution: a work wife. While actual wife Michelle Keegan’s been away filming in Malaysia, South Africa and Nepal in recent months, the EX-TOWIE star has been getting on famously with new co-host Renee Bargh.
“He and Renee have struck up a close friendship,” says an insider on the set of US entertainment show Extra, where Mark, 30, became a presenter in August. “He’s been fully accepted into the Extra family now, along with the rest of Hollywood’s up-and-coming new stars, but he and Renee in particular have bonded. Mark loves having a work wife. They have a very similar sense of humour and they love playing pranks on their other co-presenter Mario Lopez. Renee gets the giggles so bad with Mark – she thinks he’s hilarious.”
Insiders confirm Australian Renee, 31, is single, but say it’s not a flirty relationship. “Renee thinks Mark is a breath of fresh air, but it’s completely platonic,” says the source. “Mark shows her photos of his wife and talks about Michelle all the time. When you’re on set with someone all day, you need close friends.”
Our source adds that it’s the same kind of relationship Michelle, 30, has with her co-star and “work husband”luke Pasqualino, 27. The pair have become close during filming of Our Girl, and last week Luke gushed, “Working with Michelle is amazing – she’s hilarious. How could anyone not get on with Michelle?” It sounds like Mark is just evening up the score…
