we talk to taylor’s fave kebab shop

She had a 5AM chicken doner

Remember when Hugh Grant was a humble bookseller until A-lister Julia Roberts breezed in and rocked his world (Notting Hill, FYI)? Well, that’s nothing compared to kebab shop owners Semra and Mahmut Ciniviz, who last week found themselves dishing up a doner to Ms Taylor Swift. Oh, and they starred in her new music vid, too.

Speaking exclusively to heat, the couple, who run the fast food joint Kentish Delight in Kentish Town, north London, say they were caught unawares in the early hours of Saturday morning.

“The day before, a director called us and said he wanted to use our shop for some filming for TV, but that was it,” Mahmut says. “We opened the shop for them at 5AM and suddenly there was a crowd of about 100 people. They covered our security cameras and windows, then asked us to serve up kebabs while they filmed. It was all so quick – Taylor came in with some friends and ordered some food like customers who’d just left a club. She had a chicken doner.”

Still, the couple didn’t clock on to who they were feeding until their 12-year-old son Eray filled them in. “It was a bit like, ‘Taylor who?’” Semra tells us, playing it cool. “She didn’t look the same as on TV. She looks like a normal girl.” She adds that they are, however, now considering adding a “Swift Kebab” to the menu, in honour of their famous patron. But did Taylor eat her kebab? “She did,” Semra tells us. “Why wouldn’t she? She’s a normal person.”

True. After all, in that moment, the world’s biggest pop star was just a girl standing in front of a rotisserie asking for extra pickles. n
