What is Living The Dream about?

L: It’s about a couple who are at a point in their lives where they could settle for where they’ve got to and where that will take them for the rest of their lives in the UK, or they could rip all of that up and go and have an adventure – and that’s what they decide to do. They’re a positive, warm and engaging middle-aged couple, who take their two kids off to Florida to start a business.

How did you spend your downtime when you were filming in the States?

L: I watched the Real Housewives Of New York and just needed to find somewhere to get in a swimming pool because it was so hot.

P: There aren’t many swimming pools in Georgia, funnily enough, where we filmed the house scenes. They spent a long time trying to find a house with a pool because they were so few of them.

L: It’s very hard to find a house with a pool, but it was a priority because of Phil’s skinny-dipping scene.

P: It’s in my contract that I’ve got to get my kit off, being the global sex symbol that I am – it’s a prerequisite.

How many goes did you have, was it one take?

P: Yes, it was actually, although there’s another one later on next week. I got into the water and Tim, our cameraman, wasn’t ready, so I jumped in and it was freezing cold. It was the one morning I was like, “Come on, where’s the sun? Where’s the f***ing sun!?” He wasn’t bloody ready so I had to do it again.

What did you miss most and did you take anything from the UK?

L: I took a stove-top coffee pot and a pack of Mintos – you know, those butter mints with a brown strip on them from Marks & Spencer. I took, like, five bags and got people to post them to me when I ran out.

P: One thing I always miss when I’m away is a proper brew. I’d like to teach Americans how to make a decent cuppa.
