INSIDE FERNE’S DRAMATIC BIRTH

The star’s become a mum right in the middle of her baby daddy’s trial

-

Ferne Mccann finally had her baby last week, and much like her whole pregnancy, the birth of her daughter wasn’t without dramas.

Posting a picture of the baby’s tummy and hands, Ferne, 27, wrote, “Welcome to the world my darling. Didn’t expect to see you a week early. I’m so in love & bursting with pride. It’s a girl.”

Due to the baby’s early arrival, we’re told Ferne had been working right up until she went into labour and was shocked at how quickly it all happened. And all this took place while her ex-boyfriend and father of her child, Arthur Collins, was taking to the stand in his acid attack trial, with the verdict now imminent. Not exactly what you need in the run-up to giving birth.

“Understandably, Ferne has found the whole trial very stressful and traumatic and it’s not been easy,” our source explains. “But she’s absolutely over the moon with the arrival of her little girl. She had the perfect birth partner in her mum Gilly, and also had help from the Wise Hippo company, who have been spending the last few months teaching her hypnobirthing techniques. Thankfully, with all her preparation, Ferne coped well, even though the baby surprised her by coming early.”

As heat told you last week, the

This Morning presenter has been feeling stressed because of Arthur’s court case. The former scaffolder, 25, went on the run in April after an acid attack in east London injured 16 people. He’s pleaded not guilty to five counts of causing grievous bodily harm and nine counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He admits to throwing the acid, but claims he thought it was a date rape drug. He has also spoken on the stand about how he and Ferne – who had been dating on and off for over a year – had revealed their pregnancy news at a family barbecue just hours before the incident occurred. Despite Ferne’s joy at her daughter’s safe arrival, friends say the reality of being a single mum has already set in. “She’s been worrying about when it’s just her in the house all alone with a newborn,” our source adds. “She’s begging friends with babies for advice about everything from crying to feeding, and has been frantically Googling everything she can. She’s got a nurse on hand 24/7 if she has any questions or needs bits of advice, and she’s also asked her mum to move in with her, at least for a while. She doesn’t want to leave anything to chance.”
