Yeah, yeah, so everyone knows Pret’s got the Chrimbo sarnie down to a fine art. But these contenders might just steal their crown

Wave bye-bye to your soggy lunchtime salads, because the seasonal sandwiches have landed. From turkey with all the trimmings to fishy feasts, we’ve taken a bite out of some of the best and rated them just for you. Tough job, but someone’s got to do it.

M&s turkey Feast £4.45 (Five per cent donated to shelter) Packed with turkey, bacon, stuffing and cranberry chutney, this has a generous filling-to-bread ratio. The fried onions are a yum addition, too.

Pret very Merry christmas Lunch £3.50 (donates 50p to the PFT) The crunchy carrot and caramelised pecans in this were surprising but delicious. And with vegan stuffing and crispy onions, this gets a big thumbs up from us.

asda Brie & cranberry £2 Soft bread, creamy brie and not too overloaded with cranberry sauce. A proper Chrimbo classic.

sainsbury’s iconic christmas snow Globe £3.50 Topped with tiny silver stars, this looks special. With the brioche bun and generous turkey and smoked bacon filling, it tastes very good, too.

costa christmas club sandwich £3.95 OMG. Sausage and bacon plus turkey and cranberry in one super stack. Would probably be better on posher bread, but it’s pretty impressive as it is.

asda extra special hot smoked salmon & Prawn £3 The creamy salmon and prawn mix is delicious and, combined with the rocket, packs a lovely peppery punch.

starbucks turkey Feast Panini £4.25 Looks less than amazing, but the cranberry-studded bread is special. They’ve scrimped on the filling, but this would be a fab festive hangover cure.
