The singer and her country singer boyfriend Blake Shelton are said to be expecting their first baby together after she went out dressed as a mermaid for Halloween, with an apparent “baby bump” on show. It sparked speculation that the 48 year old – who’s usually known for her washboard abs – is pregnant with her fourth child.
The pictures came a week after US reports leaked that the pair – who met as coaches on The Voice US and began dating two years ago – were “hyper-focused” on getting pregnant via IVF. “Gwen adores being a mum and Blake has had babies on the brain for months, especially after getting to know Gwen’s boys,” says a source. “They knew they didn’t have time to waste, so they planned this pregnancy down to the last detail.”
As heat recently told you, the Hollaback singer – who already has sons Kingston, 11, Zuma, nine, and Apollo, three, with her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, 51 – is desperate for a baby girl. “It’s no secret that Gwen would love a daughter, and she’s been open with Blake about this from the get-go,” our insider says.
“Gwen thinks that having a child with him would really secure their relationship and make them more of a family. It’s now or never, and she’s told Blake she’s not getting any younger, and that he should take the plunge now, or risk regretting not starting a family.
“Gwen absolutely adores her three boys, and says it would complete her family to give them a little baby sister. She says meeting Blake after her divorce from Gavin felt like a miracle.
“She’s fit and healthy for her age and is determined to have a baby one way or another.”
