The Beckhams are getting broody for baby number five. Well, David is, anyway
Another mini Becks could be on the way, if broody David gets his way
If David Beckham wanted to have a baby with us, he wouldn’t have to ask twice – but then (sadly) we’re not Victoria Beckham. Apparently, the former footballer is desperate for mini Becks number five, but Posh isn’t as keen, which has led to a few disagreements.
“David is really broody at the moment. He loves being a dad and knows they haven’t got much time left to have another, so it needs to happen soon,” an insider tells heat. “But Vic isn’t as keen. She’s really busy with her fashion label and the four kids they do have and feels they’ve only just started to get their lives back now the children are older – she’s not sure she wants to go through another pregnancy.”
Our insider tells us that David – who already has Brooklyn, 18, Romeo, 15, Cruz, 12, and Harper, six, with Posh – is extra broody right now, as his sister Joanne, 35, is about to have her first child.
“Being at Joanne’s baby shower the other day made him even more keen, and he’s been trying to persuade Victoria,” our source adds. “David would love another little girl, so Harper has a sister. He knows she’d love a baby in the family and now he’s retired from football he can help out a lot more than when the other kids were little. Family is the most important thing to them and, after a tough year, it would really be something for them to look forward to. But Vic can be quite stubborn and feels she’s done her bit.”
The Beckhams, who have been married for 18 years, have endured a testing 2017, with “Beckileaks”, (when David’s swearing emails about not getting a knighthood were leaked), eldest son Brooklyn leaving for college, and reports about David’s partying and friendship with socialite and model Lady Mary Charteris.
The 42 year old has always been open about the fact he’d like to have more children, saying in 2012, “We might have one or two more, you never know,” while Vic, 43, has seemingly ruled it out, content with her three boys and Harper.
And for now, she seems more focused on masterminding little Harper’s showbiz career than getting pregnant. After sharing a video of the six year old singing
Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas, our insider thinks this could be the start of something big.
“Vic knows that Harper is likely to be famous like her brothers, so she wants to make sure she’s in control of that, like she was when she started posting videos of Cruz singing,” our source adds. “The video was just a bit of fun, but Harper loves performing and being in front of the camera, and Vic thinks she could even make a career of it.”
