Believe it or not, this is the fifth series of the frothy show, in which Jamie Oliver and his close personal buddy Jimmy Doherty do some cooking at a café on Southend Pier in deepest Essex, with a celebrity for company. And, to be fair, the guests they’ve had on the series down the years have been pretty impressive, from Usain Bolt and Orlando Bloom to Salma Hayek and Lindsay Lohan. This opener is no exception, as they welcome the great Simon Pegg, of Mission: Impossible and Star Trek franchise fame, to the pier. Amidst all the celeb cookery, Jamie and Jimmy will also be back on the road campaigning about a range of food issues, and Jimmy uses his DIY expertise to create some practical solutions to food-based dilemmas.
