Louise & Jamie: it’s not over yet
The pair are STILL living together
They’ve kept us guessing for months over the future of their marriage, as they continue to lead separate lives while denying any plans to divorce. But despite recent reports that Jamie and Louise Redknapp are living apart and on the brink of splitting for good, heat can reveal that this is not the full truth. In fact, an insider close to the couple tells us the singer is still living in their Surrey mansion and that their marriage is far from over.
“Louise says that, with space, she hopes they can start talking about their future again,” our source tells us. “She still loves Jamie and hopes to ‘consciously re-couple’, but, at the moment, is saying she wants her freedom and identity back. For now, she wants to split her time between their home in Surrey – so they can spend key times together as a family – and a place of her own in London.”
It’s no secret that the former Eternal singer has been enjoying a new lease of life since separating from Jamie, 44, in June, after 19 years of marriage. She’s returned to the stage with a starring role in a touring production of Cabaret, and has said she regretted giving up her pop career and turning into a “Stepford Wife”.
Our insider tells us the 43 year old has been going back to the family home during the two days a week she’s had off from Cabaret, and with the tour due to end early next month, she’ll be spending a lot more time there.
“Jamie has told friends that they come and go and take it in turns with the boys – and that’s down to their work schedules, not because of a divorce,” our source tells us. “But he’s done living a game of two halves, he thinks they should make a decision now.”
However, Louise is adamant that their current set-up can actually save their relationship. Our source tells us, “She doesn’t want their home to be a negative place for anyone. She’s looking for a base in London, which she’s calling an alternative sanctuary, and wants it to be near her new BFF Daisy Lowe. At the moment, she and Jamie are ships passing in the night, but neither feel it has to end in divorce.”
