Coleen Rooney’s kept schtum following husband Wayne’s drink-driving scandal. But now she’s broken her silence. And, boy, did she have a lot to say…

The footballer’s under fire again – from his own wife this time

After keeping a dignified silence for the past couple of months, Coleen Rooney has sensationally given us a shocking and candid insight into the state of her marriage – and we’d advise Wayne to look away now.

Following his arrest in September for drink-driving while taking home a woman he’d met in a bar that evening, speculation has been rife about their relationship. Now, Coleen – who is six months pregnant with the couple’s fourth child – has spoken out and confessed that she doesn’t know if they will survive.

Writing with brutal honesty on her official Facebook page, Coleen said, “A few people have been feeling sorry for me – please don’t. I appreciate getting cared about, however, I am a strong person, I don’t feel sorry for myself. Also, a few people are probably thinking

‘he’s made selfish and silly mistakes’

I’m stupid for staying in my marriage. I am not stupid. I know my own mind and it’s something I want to try and work on. No, I’m not taking Wayne back, as he’s never left. Yes, it has been a shit time, and yes, time was spent apart and I thought my marriage might have been at an end.”

The 31-year-old WAG – who already has sons Kai, eight, Klay, four, and 22-month-old Kit with the footballer – didn’t use the opportunity to defend her husband of nine years, and instead stuck the knife in even more.

“Wayne doesn’t get portrayed for the person he is in the press, he has always had a hard time. I’m not going to list his good qualities as a person, as I don’t think he

deserves it at this time, but one thing is that he is a brilliant dad,” she wrote. “He’s made silly and selfish mistakes, some he’s learnt from, some obviously not. However, maybe that will change.”

This is not the first time that Wayne, 32, has found himself in trouble with Coleen, who’s been with him since they were 16. At the start of their relationship, Wayne admitted visiting brothels and made a public apology to his then-fiancée. And when Coleen was expecting Kai, it was claimed he’d been seeing prostitutes again, even having a threesome. He’s also had several drunken mishaps, and earlier this year, he lost £500k in just two hours at a casino.

And it’s clear Coleen is not impressed with her husband’s behaviour when he’s drunk. She added, “In life, you don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow. But one thing I do know is that too much alcohol on a night out is dangerous, and a lot of stupid mistakes are made and things are said under the influence. I would never trust ANYONE who has had a lot of alcohol – it changes some people drastically.”

And while Coleen has put her wedding ring back on – she had taken it off because “it didn’t feel right wearing it” as she saw it as a sign of commitment – and wants the marriage to work, she knows she would be fine without Wayne.

“To answer a lot of people, not everything in our life is money related. People think that when you earn a lot of money, everything is fine. Yes, there are advantages, but this isn’t everything in life and it doesn’t always make people happy,” she said. “It’s my decision... Do I love Wayne? Yes, I do. If I didn’t, then I wouldn’t be trying to make it work. I know I would be fine on my own, with just me and my children, but I don’t want to live like that. I want to try and continue our marriage and live as a family, because that’s what I want to do. I’m not saying that everything is fine and forgotten about, but we are as good as can be at this point. I’m not the type of person to put a show on and say we’re all loved-up. I’m just real.”
