Is anyone not slightly terrified of Taylor Swift? She has a whole squad she’ll send after you if you cross her – and that’s if you don’t get bad mouthed in a song. But there is one man who isn’t afraid to put the singer in her place – and that’s her hot boyfriend, Joe Alwyn.
“Taylor is used to being in control when it comes to whoever she’s dating – but this time it’s different,” says heat’s insider. “She usually stages everything and the boyfriend goes along with it. But that has backfired in the past – look how badly her fling with Tom Hiddleston went down with the public – and Joe doesn’t want any part of that craziness. He is more in control of this relationship than Taylor, and it’s a new experience for her.”
Brit actor Joe, 26, and Taylor, 27, have been dating since May, but kept their romance quiet, making a rare public appearance at the Jingle Bell Ball in New York in December. They were seen holding hands and cuddling up as they watched the concert, but don’t expect too many PDAS from these two. Our insider adds, “They’ve kept things on the down-low because that’s what Joe wants. Taylor really likes him and says she’s fine with them keeping things out of the limelight for however long he needs. She used to think that there was only one way to deal with dating in the spotlight – flaunting it – but she’s finally learned that relationships are a two-way street, and compromise comes with that. And she’s happier than ever.”
