The whitest teeth in telly sit down with Katie Holloway to talk all things Celebrity Big Brother

Celebrating 100 years of women’s suffrage isn’t what you’d imagine to be at the forefront of the CBB producers’ minds. However, when CBB’S Bit On The Side host Rylan Clark-neal tells us about the ‘women first, men later’ theme for CBB 21, we’re completely on board. In fact, Rylan, 29, could say anything to us and it would have us wheezing with laughter. The former X Factor contestant-turned-tv presenter has carved out his place in British telly culture like no other. We actively encourage him taking over every show on the box and, if he gets his way, he’ll be continuing his conquest with Black Mirror. Watch this space…

What did you think when the CBB producers told you about this year’s concept?

My first reaction was, “Really?” Now I know more about what’s going on and how it’s going to work, I totally get it. But I’m not going to lie, I was a bit like, “Why?”

Have you seen the house yet? Tell us it’s not all going to be pink…

It’s so not, which is definitely a good thing. The house looks really cool. If you remember last summer’s series – it just looks really like Big Brother. It’s classy, modern and a bit futuristic, but comfortable.

Do you think all women will mean more or less arguing?

I don’t think it will be arguing at all, I really don’t. The housemates we’ve got, they’re not like that. They’re very strong and powerful women, they know what they want and have got what they want. I think there’s going to be a lot of girl power. Also, there are men going in later, it’s not just going to be all women.

We know you can’t tell us who’s going in the house, but who would be your dream line-up?

I’ve got two women I really want in there, because I just think they would be amazing. One is Miriam Margolyes [aka Professor Sprout from the Harry Potter movies]…
