Jen-an and Justin Theroux are going through tough times. Let’s hope they sort it out or it may cost her a few bob
Busy schedules and disagreements are causing tension between them…
Seeing Jennifer Aniston get her happy ending when she married Justin Theroux made us happier than if we’d actually tied the knot ourselves. But just over two years since their back-garden wedding, we’re told the couple are facing their toughest test yet and are having crisis talks, as they try and avoid a $250million divorce.
“Jen and Justin have had their ups and downs over the years, but in recent months, things have been at breaking point,” an insider close to the couple – who have been together for over seven years – tells
heat. “Jen is doing her best to go into this year with a clean slate, because she’s felt as though she and Justin could be growing apart. Their main problem is that they’ve grown into such different people and have been leading increasingly separate lives. The only time they seem to get together is for planned public appearances, or when their schedules happen to put them in the same place at the same time.”
While Jen, 48, is a California girl through and through, Justin prefers New York life, and we’re told they still disagree about their permanent base, with friends
‘She’s realising she and Justin want different things’
fearing there’s no way back.
“Justin is very much an NY guy, while Jen loves her creature comforts in Bel Air. He’s put a lot of pressure on her to make the move to New York full time, but she just can’t see herself doing it,” our source says. “It has really been pushing her to the realisation that her and Justin want different things from life.
“Jen has everything she needs in LA. Most of her work is based there and she has a solid group of girlfriends. She loves her lifestyle in the sun, and having fun dinners with her friends. She would feel completely isolated if she moved away. She really likes having her close female friends nearby and isn’t willing to sacrifice that. But Justin still feels very much young at heart and doesn’t want to stay too long in a posh, sleepy town like Bel Air when he could be having fun in New York. He’s very outgoing and always looking for adventure, but Jen is much more of a homebody. They have held crisis talks to see if they can come

to a compromise. Both of them have their own big TV projects in the pipeline, and if they become hits, it could mean them spending even more time apart.”
Last year saw Justin finish work on his TV show The Leftovers,
The LEGO Ninjago Movie and the new Star Wars film among other things, while Jen has been busy with her upcoming TV project with Reese Witherspoon, and will be spending more time on that this year. Most of Justin’s work has been New York based, while Jen has been shooting in LA and her new film Dumplin was filmed in Atlanta.
They’ve also had to deal with rumours about Justin getting close to actress Naomi Watts, plus he was also seen taking his former Leftovers co-star Emily Meade to dinner at the restaurant where he proposed to Jen. We’re told that, while Jen knows there is no reason for her to be concerned, she is mindful about the circumstances that led to the end of her marriage to Brad Pitt in 2005, when he left her for Angelina Jolie (we’re still not really over that TBH), and she is desperate to make things work.
“This year is going to be crazy for Jen. She’s got a really packed work schedule and people are wondering if she’s ever going to have time to see Justin. But at the same time, she doesn’t want to lose him, and she’s told her friends that there is no way she is ever going to go through a divorce again, which is why she’s determined to work things out,” our source says.
“Her split from Brad was horrendous, and she knows this could be similar. Unlike with Brad, she is worth a lot more than Justin [$230m compared to his $20m], so things could get messy and it’s something she wants to avoid.”
Justin had flown to LA for the holidays and the couple were due to take their annual New Year break in the sun. However, when they get back, they’re going to face another test – awards season. We’re told while Jen is keen to be a big presence on the red carpet
this year, especially the Oscars, Justin isn’t as enthusiastic and would rather stay away from the attention.
“Justin isn’t comfortable with all the red-carpet theatrics the way Jen is. He would rather be anywhere else than attend an awards show,” another insider tells heat. “She loves the attention and the networking, but he’s more shy. But he does know how important these kinds of things are for Jen, everyone in her life does. It’s extra-important to her to do these events this year, because she’s already feeling so out of the loop with the Holly wood crowd. She feels she hardly sees anyone now she spends more time in New York with Justin. And even when they are in town, they rarely socialise as a couple. She’s doing her best to still show her face, but it’s hard to always go alone when she’s a married woman.
“She should have her husband there with her, and people have certainly noticed that Justin is almost never with her these days. The sad fact is that things seem to be going downhill fast. They haven’t really been right all year. Unless they can get on the same page, it’s shaping up to be a very tough 2018 for them.” Come on, guys – we just don’t think we could cope with any more heartbreak for Jen.
