CBB’S Andrew and Shane: it’s the ultimate bromance
We speak to the CBB star’s bestie about his chances of love in the house
We were getting a bit fed up of Ashley and Ginuwine’s ongoing “will they/won’t they” saga, tbh. But there’s one would-be couple that has really got us talking: Shandrew. Former Apprentice star Andrew Brady and drag queen Shane Jenek, aka Courtney Act, have been bosom buddies from the beginning. But after Andrew admitted last week, “If she didn’t have a dick, I’d go to town on her,” we were keen to find out if the bromance really could turn to love. Talking exclusively to heat, Andrew’s BFF Jackie Attwood gives us her verdict.
“I can totally see why they ended up so close. They definitely have chemistry,” she tells us. But, sadly, Jackie believes it’s purely platonic. “From what I can see, it’s friendship chemistry,” she says. “Andrew is very much straight.” And does she thinks Shane, 36, fancies her mate? “Maybe,” she tells us. “But he’s very experienced. I don’t think Andrew would ever lead him down the garden path and I don’t think Shane would ever get led down the garden path, either. They’re just two guys having a lot of fun and getting on well.”
Meanwhile, as if we needed confirmation, we’re told that Andrew is indeed a bit of a tease. “He flirts with everyone – that’s just who he is,” Jackie says. “I think that, because he’s so good-looking, he’s over-the-top, and he’s so comfortable in his own sexuality, people desperately try to figure him out.” But according to her, the 26 year old isn’t looking for hook-ups. “He’s very loyal and is more of a relationship person. I don’t think Big Brother sex-under-the-table exploits are his kind of thing. He just went in to have fun and meet some great characters as well,” she says.
As for Andrew’s fabulous drag transformation into blonde-haired beauty Betty Swollocks, courtesy of Courtney, his friend predicts there’s more of her and her sparkly beard to come. “I have no doubt we’ll see more of Betty,” Jackie says. “I was hoping Andrew would get to the final so that Betty and Courtney could leave the house together!” ■
