Watch out, Wayne – Coleen still isn’t happy with you, and a baby won’t help

Mr Rooney is STILL in the doghouse

- Kate Randall

Gearing up to welcome their fourth child, Coleen and Wayne Rooney have been excitedly getting themselves ready for more sleepless nights and dirty nappies. However, we’re told Coleen’s still struggling to get over her husband’s most recent betrayal, and friends say she sometimes wonders if she can ever fully forgive him .

“Coleen and Wayne are in a better place than they were, but things are still far from perfect between them – Coleen can still get angry and upset by what he did,” a Rooney insider says. “For the past few months, she’s been focused on making everything OK for the boys, as well as wanting to relax as her due date approaches.

“But it hasn’t been easy. Wayne is still not entirely forgiven, and she’s not so naïve to think the new baby alone will change that. She knows they have to keep working at the marriage.”

ICYMI, last September, Wayne was arrested for drink-driving as he drove home a woman he’d met in a bar that evening. At the time, Coleen was on holiday with their three sons, Kai, eight, Klay, four, and two-year-old Kit. Laura Simpson, the woman in the car, later claimed she Wayne kissed and said things would have gone further had they not been stopped by police. It wasn’t the first time Wayne had been a bit of an idiot. He famously visited a brothel when he and Coleen first began dating back in 2002. He was also accused of sleeping with prostitutes when Coleen was pregnant with Kai.

In November last year, Coleen, 31, posted a lengthy and damning Facebook post about his behaviour, admitting she had considered ending the marriage and branded him “silly and selfish”. She added, “It’s my decision... do I love Wayne? Yes, I do. If I didn’t then I wouldn’t be trying to make it work. I know I would be fine on my own, with just me and my children, but I don’t want to live like that. I want to try and continue our marriage and live as a family, because that’s what I want to do. I’m not saying everything is fine and forgotten about, but we are as good as can be at this point.”

And while we’re told things have improved since then, Coleen isn’t sure she’ll ever be able to get over it. “Coleen has been so loyal to Wayne and it’s hard

‘wayne’s got a lot of making up to do’

when someone doesn’t treat you in the same way,” our source adds. “She wants to stay with Wayne, but she isn’t afraid of being on her own.

“They’re currently building their dream family home and she’s hoping they can put everything behind them once they move in, but she’s not stupid and Wayne still has a lot of making up to do.”
