Courteney & Johnny set the date
The on/off couple decide it’s now or never
While Jen Aniston is single again, best friend Courteney Cox is up on cloud nine. The actress has been dating Snow Patrol’s Johnny Mcdaid since 2013 and, judging by their PDA at Heathrow airport last week, they are more in love than ever. In fact, heat can reveal the couple have finally set a date to get married. “They want to do it at Courteney’s house in Malibu in late July,” an insider tells us. “It’ll be a low-key, romantic ceremony at sunset, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.”
The Friends star, 53, was introduced to 41-year-old Johnny by mutual friend Ed Sheeran. Courteney let Ed crash at her house back in 2014, so Ed repaid the favour by introducing her to her future fiancée. Nice.
But the couple did go through a rocky patch in 2015, and called off their engagement after reports that they couldn’t agree over their future. Our insider says, “Johnny always planned on having children and raising them in Ireland, but that didn’t seem doable with Courteney, which is why they split. But he missed her terribly while they were apart and he says those things don’t concern him any more. They’re in a good place now, so they decided to take the plunge.”
We’re told Jennifer Aniston will play a role in the nuptials, as she is expected to be a bridesmaid alongside Courteney’s 13-year-old daughter Coco. The two women have remained BFFS since their Friends days, with Courteney helping Jen through her recent split from Justin Theroux. Our source adds, “Johnny’s seen how Courteney has been giving Jen a shoulder to cry on recently, and he’s full of admiration at the way she has been there for her friend. It’s made him love Courteney more than ever, and he can’t wait to marry her.”n
