She gave the world complete access into her pregnancy last year on her ITV special First Time Mum, culminating in baby Sunday’s birth. Now, Ferne Mccann is getting ready to open her doors to the cameras again, as producers are keen to extend the show into a full-length series. The catch? She needs to up the drama – by including her jailed ex Arthur Collins in the storyline.
“The producers want her to talk on screen about Arthur and to be allowed to film if she visits him. They’d even like some of his family to star in the series,” an insider tells heat.
“She’d prefer it to be about her life as a single mum and her beauty products, but that won’t attract viewers in the same way.”
The reality star’s relationship with her daughter’s dad hit the headlines last month, after it emerged that – despite insisting Arthur would never be a part of their lives – three-month-old Sunday had been taken to visit him by his mum. While Ferne’s keen to distance herself from Arthur, who was jailed for 20 years for an acid attack in a club, our insider tells us, “Arthur was front-page news for months when he was on trial, and the show’s bosses want to appeal to that audience.”
Unfortunately for Ferne, it seems she’s going to have to compromise if she wants a “mummy” TV career to rival the likes of Tamara Ecclestone or her frenemy Sam Faiers. “She wishes she could just be rid of Arthur,” we’re told. “But she may not have much say, especially if they’ll pay her a big fee.
“She needs the money at the moment.”
