Junior on Katie’s surgery: ‘I GET A NEW MUM EVERY YEAR’
Her ex, Peter Andre, isn’t best pleased
Being the child of Katie Price must be a unique experience – especially after last week, when she came home to her family covered in bloodied bandages and (shudder) “drainage tubes”. Friends say the model’s 12-year-old son, Junior, has started questioning his mum’s surgery obsession, joking that he gets, “A new mum every year.” And his dad is not exactly happy about the situation…
“Junior pointed out that his mum doesn’t look like she used to,” says an insider close to Katie, 39, who is married to Kieran Hayler, 30, and is also mum to Harvey, 15, Princess, ten, Jett, four, and Bunny, three. “The kids would love Katie not to have any more work. Junior said, ‘If we didn’t see Mum for a couple of years, we may not recognise her.’”
Katie was seen last week after having corrective surgery – her second major op in six months – following her “botched facelift” last September. Unsurprisingly, alarm bells are ringing for ex, Peter Andre, 44. “Pete is worried that the kids think it’s too normal,” says the insider. “He thinks Katie’s attitude to plastic surgery is linked to her mental state and that it’s not surgery she needs, it’s therapy. He would like to step in, but he’s worried about getting caught up in her drama. Instead, he confided in Katie’s friend, Michelle Heaton. He told her Katie’s out of control and believes she’s deeply unhappy.”
Pete, who has since married doctor Emily Macdonagh, 28 – with whom he has children Amelia, four, and Theo, one – told friends it was his new wife who pointed out the problem. The source adds, “Emily believes Katie has deep insecurities. She says the surgery may even be a form of self-harming, particularly since Kieran admitted to cheating again last summer.”
Whatever Pete thinks, friends say it’s unlikely to stop the former glamour model, who’s had eight boob jobs, a nose job, veneers, liposuction, lip fillers, and recently admitted, “I’ve had more Botox than hot dinners.”
The insider continues, “Katie is delighted with her new facelift. She says she’s done with cosmetic procedures for now, but no one really believes that.” n
