There are few things that would im­press the Queen, but go­ing through a se­cret bap­tism surely has to be one of them. Meghan Markle was pic­tured back to royal du­ties in Birm­ing­ham last week, af­ter giv­ing her new gran-in-law the ul­ti­mate pre-wed­ding gift – by swap­ping Hol­ly­wood for holy wa­ter.

The 45-minute hush-hush bap­tism into the Angli­can faith was con­ducted by the Arch­bishop of Can­ter­bury last Tues­day evening, with fi­ancé Prince Harry by her side as wa­ter was sprin­kled on to Meghan’s head. She was then wel­comed into the church.
